POLLICASTRO BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Lecce (LE) – Italy
CATEGORY: Boutique Hotel 4*
From the 1400s to the 1500s, from Park Tower at Pollicastro, two symbolic monuments of the city, joined by a few meters of a tree-lined avenue and by the desire to enhance and bring out the ancient glories and the many life stories of which they were silent witnesses.
In the heart of the historic center of Lecce, Pollicastro Boutique Hotel is a historic residence located in a sixteenth-century building also known as de' Perroni, a name that gives its name to the entire street that runs from Porta San Biagio to Piazza Sant'Oronzo.
Myths and legends are intertwined in the history of this ancient place and are confirmed in a series of discreet and precious details that can already be glimpsed on the façade among the golden reflections of the Lecce stone: a small statue, created by Giuseppe Zimbalo, reproduces Saint Oronzo, the patron saint of Lecce. An ancient belief that has been passed down verbally, says that the palace was built on the ruins of the Saint's house.
